Poverty reduction

Poverty reduction or Poverty alleviation involves improving the living conditions of people who are already poor; overall economic growth also contributes to the reduction in poverty.

AMRIC Research believes that investment in health, education and infrastructure helps growth by increasing human and physical capitalwhich can be achieved through Government support or aid. Lack of economic freedom also tends to halt sustainable economic growth moreover inefficient institutions, corruption and political instability can also discourage investment. Economic liberalization requires extending property rights to the poor, especially to land. Financial services, notably savings, small loans, can be made accessible to the poor, creation of jobs for the poor is one important way to reduce poverty.

AMRIC Research strongly believes in positive role of women in poverty reduction which also contributes to the cause of household survival. Women contribution to poverty reduction is not limited to the household but rights and opportunities secured for women ultimately increase the overall human capital of the country.
